I’ve spent most of my life being obsessed with all things BBQ. Growing up some of my favorite memories were eating at my favorite local BBQ restaurant, the Dinosaur BBQ in Syracuse, NY. I remember the smells of the wood smoking, the sound of the blues crackling over the radio, and all of the different people who had come together to enjoy that food. You would see leather-clad bikers sitting next to nuns, sitting across from a wedding party and the one thing they had in common was BBQ!
From there whether it was trying to see how many different types of ribs I could eat in Memphis or countless weekend cookouts with friends and family I always gravitate back to my love of smoking meat and sharing good BBQ with those I love.
In 2020 good friends and neighbors of mine even came together to create Ridgeview Meatfest , an annual neighborhood festival celebrating all things meat and BBQ.
So Deck Dad BBQ is my way to share my favorite BBQ restaurants and the recipes and techniques I’ve watched and learned over the years with everyone else. Thanks for coming with me on the journey!
